How To Treat Tinnitus – Ringing in The Ears

What is tinnitus?

Tinnitus is a condition where a person hears a ringing, humming, or buzzing sound in their ears. There sound doesn’t usually come from external sources as it’s not generated by anything outside a person’s body.

It is said that tinnitus can be a symptom of an underlying condition such as head or ear injury, hearing loss, or side effects of some medication.

Some of the causes of tinnitus 

Causes of tinnitus are still unknown but here are some confirmed causes:

1. Exposure to loud noises

• Getting exposed to loud sounds, such as working in a noisy environment, or listening to music using headphones or earphones at a high volume causes tinnitus.

2. Hearing Loss

• Age-related hearing loss and other types of hearing loss lead to tinnitus.

3. Earwax 

• Blockage in the ear can cause tinnitus, such as earwax buildup is commonly known as one cause of tinnitus, but this one is treatable.

4. Health condition 

• High blood pressure is widely known to have contributed to tinnitus with other health conditions, examples are thyroid disorders and cardiovascular disease.

5. Medications

• Drugs like antibiotics, which are worse for tinnitus patients can cause tinnitus, these medicines should be avoided by tinnitus patients.

6. Cannabis (Marijuana)

• Use of cannabis has caused tinnitus and worsened the condition for some. Many knows that Marijuana can worsen tinnitus but what they don’t understand is how weed causes ringing in the ears, marijuana causes tinnitus through panic attacks, when someone is high on weed, he or she might experience panic attacks which is common to long-term Bhang smokers, weed panic attacks is worse and can even cause heart attack, many people even get strokes due to panic attack.

A person might not notice tinnitus during a panic attack session, but with time, that’s after a few hours or days, you’ll begin to hear ringing or buzzing sounds in your ears.

How to treat tinnitus

Do some exercise: 

. Running mostly

. Work on your neck by moving your head right and left 20 to 30 times daily, roll your head around 10 times daily

. Put one finger on your head, top, middle, and scratch your head gently while concentrating on the sound being produced by the scratch, do this as long as you can, two or three times a day you’ll notice tinnitus going away.

Check on your kidney and blood pressure 

Always sleep without a pillow facing up

Avoid stimulants, such as weed, alcohol, Khat, Cigarettes, and many more. 

Stop using a lot of sugar or excess sugar 

Try hard to avoid stress

At least try meditation twice a day, morning and evening

Don’t eat white rice

Eat food that is rich in fat and protein.
